Written by David Stellmack

Right straight out of the box on day 1
id Software has confirmed that the PC release of their upcoming title Rage will offer a complete set of editing and mod tools that will be included with the game.

The mod tools will offer level making abilities, along with the feature of building new things within the game. Accessing the mod tools is as simple as going into the console within the game and typing “id studio.”

With the mod tools being offered with the game, it is likely that PC players will see a variety of FPS and driving offerings for Rage. id Software’s trend of allowing players the ability to grow the game on the PC has always proved to be an important part of growing the popularity of the title. The news that these tools will arrive on day one should be welcome news to the PC gaming community.

And thats why Id Software is king as far I'm concerned. Games from gamers for gamers.

Suck on that Crytek!

...you mean, the company that has announced this?

As far as I see it, any company that doesn't support its community is, pardon the pun, doomed. Every major engine has an SDK for users to use.
