Roundup: Scales well with early drivers

If you are thinking about doing CrossFireX, quad-GPU with dual HD 3870 X2, you might want to check out the article over at FPSLabs.com. Bear in mind that these tests are done with a super early CrossFireX driver and the actual performance might get even better. If you judge by these first results CrossFireX might have a bright future, scaling goes from 15.6 per cent in 3DMark06, all the way up to 76.9 per cent in F.E.A.R., while Call of Juarez had 50.2 per cent gain.

The whole excitement over Intel's Skulltrail hasn't passed yet, so the guys over at PC Perspective have tested both SLI and Crossfire performance on this dual-headed eight-core beast. If you have money to spend on such an expensive gaming rig then high-end SLI or high-end CrossFire will not be a problem. You can check out the results here. And if you want the best for your Skulltrail then be sure to check out OCC's review of Intel Core 2 Extreme QX9770.

PCGamesHardware.de has done an interesting comparison on Lara's previous looks in Tomb Raider: Anniversary and recently published screenshots of Lara doing the Underworld. Lara is changing from gentle to mean, or is that just shadow and lightning playing tricks? You can check out the screenshots here.

If you like to see a good power supply in action, then you can check out Guru3D's high praise for BeQuiet's Dark Power Pro 650W First Class Edition. According to them this one is stable, very efficient and so quiet that they measured the noise few times just to be sure.

Our colleagues from Neoseeker have managed to get their hands on dual fan cooled Asus EAH3870X2 TOP card. The HD 3870 X2 with non-reference fan and quad DVI ports. The results of this dual fan Republic of Gamers representative can be seen here. Guys from German site Hartware.net have tested the same kind of card but this one comes from Gecube, different dual-fan, and the same quad DVI setting.
