AMD Antilles pixellized

Written by Slobodan Simic

Getting close to launch
It looks like Antilles based HD 6990 card launch is pretty close as the first press shots have already leaked. There hasn't been any talk regarding the launch of the card and there were no hints that it may launch at Cebit, but you never know as AMD might have pushed the date a bit forward.

The press shot doesn't show much except for the dual slot cooler with a central fan that we already saw a while back. The press shot of the card also shows a single DVI and four mini DisplayPort outputs. As far as the recent rumours are concerned, the card should feature 3072 Stream processors, dual 256-bit memory interface and 4GB of GDDR5 memory.

The clocks are still a mystery and it will be quite interesting to see how low were they set in order to keep the TDP at normal values. We guess that there will be more info regarding the card at Cebit while the latest rumours claim the card should launch on March 8th.

It'll probably be too big to fit in most PC cases just like the 5970! It will be slower than the GTX 590 as well. :-x They can keep it!!

Hi Baby, My PC Case has a room open for you. My HD 6970 is looking forward to seeing you soon.

If tihs card is anything like the late HD 5970 card, this HD 6990 is going to rock big time and be named as the fastest discrete GPU on the planet. Good job AMD, looking forward to seeing this beast in action...

:D You made me laugh loud because of this comment!
Just don't expect mature & smart response. Warrior24_7 is well known for baseless opinions and annoying trolling. I guess he has a lot of free time and not much to care about in his life, if he thinks that computer products are worth any ideology... ;)

HardOCP has a preview of this card

Playable settings in Dragon Age II demo were 5760x1200 4XAA/2X AF "High" quality setting (DX11) and SSAO.
If it can run 3 screens smoothly, 1 should be too easy...

Excuse me?
Was it not you shouting that PC gaming was dieing and that dev's don't care about PC gaming?
So why would you care about this news the first place?
I'm sensing a Trolling continuity fail.

Right, well, enough time wasted, on topic, SWEET, can't wait to see what it does, won't be buying it though.
Don't have the money to spend, Im saving up for a HD6950 atm XD

PC games set the bar super high in terms of Creating and Designing games with wonderful picture quality. In other words, without PC games and the challenges that come with designing them, console games wouldn’t look as good as they do today. So people that want PC games to die off need a massive head exam, because you’re positioning console games to look not so good.
