EA confirms more NFS: Hot Pursuit DLC

Written by David Stellmack

Will arrive over next three weeks
Electronic Arts is confirming what we reported on previously, that a new Lamborghini and Porsche DLC packs were coming for Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit. The part that we did not know is that in addition, a new DLC pack called “Armed and Dangerous” is coming that will add two new play modes.

The official name for the new DLC car packs are Lamborghini Untamed and Porsche Untamed. Each of these $7 (560 Microsoft Points) DLC car packs will add 10 new cars in each brand. Each package includes additional achievements or trophies, depending on which platform you are playing on, and 10 new events within the game to complete.

The Armed and Dangerous DLC pack is perhaps a bit more interesting, as it adds the Most Wanted mode and the Arms Race mode. The Most Wanted mode is perhaps best described as an open world adventure by the cops to capture a specific racer, while other racers attempt to protect the one being chased. The Arms Race mode in the Armed and Dangerous DLC pack is sort of a last man standing mode with players equipped with a full load out of weaponry to use against others in an effort to finish first.

Similar to the DLC car packs, the Armed and Dangerous DLC pack will cost $7 (560 Microsoft Points) and will arrive for both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 platforms. Our sources confirm to us that there will not be a PC release as expected.

Xbox 360 owners who want to purchase Armed and Dangerous will have to manually download the new version 1.2 patch which checks in at almost 260MB, which is well over the automatic patch limit on the Xbox 360 platform. PlayStation 3 owners will automatically get the patch upon starting up the game.
