Topaz is webOS tablet from HP

Written by David Stellmack

To be launched at HP event next month

The first webOS tablet from HP is codenamed Topaz. The Topaz is a 9.7-inch tablet device running the webOS using a 1.2GHz processor with an Adreno 220 graphics processor. It is said to sport 512MB of DDR2 RAM, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, front facing camera and integrated Beats audio.

The unit is said to be able to deliver 8 hours of use, as it is powered by two 3150 mAh batteries that are apparently not user replaceable. The Topaz will first be available in a Wi-Fi only version, with 3G and 4G versions to be released if the unit proves popular.

HP will be hosting an event next month in San Francisco to unveil the new offerings.
