Gets a new Catalyst Control Centre

AMD has released its newest version of the Catalyst driver, the Catalyst 10.12. The driver will be available as a preview for early testing and as a full version. The new version, at least the preview one, brings couple of major updates including the new Catalyst Control Centre, something that has been rumoured for quite some time.

The new CCC is now resizable, has a built-in search and features a new design. AMD has also announced the Catalyst Application Profile, or simply CAP. The CAP are going to be weekly updates that should give additional performance improvements for applications and games. As far as the driver goes, the new Catalyst 10.12 includes support for DivX on AMD Radeon HD 6800 series CARDS, which means that with this driver and the DivX accelerated solutions, you can expect A lower CPU load, extended battery life etc.

The new driver also brings support for OpenGL 4.1 including the new features introduced in OpenGL 4.1 and the new ARB extensions introduced with OpenGL 4.1, as well as the AMD Stream 2.3 SDK release.

You can find it and download it here.
