Flavor of Dirt 3 to be different

by on02 September 2010

A return to more international feel
Word is that the developers at Codemasters have been doing a lot of listening to the feedback on the previous release of Dirt 2, and based on that feedback, things are going to change. Apparently, Dirt 3 will feature a less “American” feel and have a more International flavor when it arrives.

While the game maybe always seemed to have a bit of an American feel to it, Dirt 2 pushed that more to the limit with the X-Games and Rally X additional drivers from America; and that seemed to have met with some grumbling from our international friends, who thought the game was too Americanized.

For Dirt 3, the game is said to sport a more international flavor and tends to lean more toward a European vibe, according to what we are finding out. The developers have made a decision to go this direction with Dirt 3, which might pay off in international sales, but those in North America who discovered Dirt 2 might be a bit surprised in what they find with Dirt 3.

The decision to change the look and feel of the game was based on feedback from the fans; and Codemasters hopes it is the right decision, but they seem to be confident that Dirt 3 should please everyone.  We will have to wait and see.  Dirt 3 does not have an official release date yet, but it is targeted for release in 2011 for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC platforms.
