Halo: Reach is done

by on04 August 2010

Pushes Xbox 360 to the limit
News from the Bungie camp is that Halo: Reach has been completed and submitted to Microsoft for acceptance testing prior to the game heading off to be replicated. According to sources, Bungie claims that getting all of the content to fit on a single DVD was tough.

What is perhaps more telling is the news that Bungie thinks that while Halo: Reach didn’t exhaust everything that is possible to get out of the Xbox 360 hardware; the developer certainly did challenge it. Some are already whispering that Halo: Reach was the most ambitious game to date and could be the measuring stick that all other Xbox 360 titles coming after it will be compared to.

While some final cleanup might remain as well as rumored downloadable content that is in the pipeline of development, some Bungie developers have already started to migrate onto the next big Bungie project. What Bungie is working on is, of course, a closely guarded secret, but some are suspecting that we should hear more about the Bungie future next year. In the meantime, the company is focused in the short term on the Halo: Reach launch.
