Amazon has strongest holiday season ever

Online mega e-tailer Amazon.com has announced that the 2007 holiday season was the best in the company’s history. The news sent Amazon shares up over 2 percent, or a $2.13 increase per share, in trading on the NASDAQ.

Amazon says that December 10th was its busiest shopping day of the year, with customers ordering a staggering 62.5 items per second, with a total of 5.4 million items ordered during the time period.
