Worms: Reloaded to bring back 2D

Written by Nedim Hadzic
y_clock

Coming on 26th of August
Anyone familiar with Worms knows that the game is still played online, and we’re not talking about 3D version of the game – we’re talking about the actual 2D versions - Worms Armageddon, World Party, etc. The online community singlehandedly (multiplehandedly just sounds bad) evolved the game into much more than even its creators planned, and now it is set to get another installment in 2D. Yup, you heard it right – 2D.

There will be 65 single-player missions in two flavors – Warzone and Normal difficulty levels. The new weapons are Super Punk Buster, Poison Strike, Worship, Sentry Gun, Electromagnet and Buffalo of Lies, which means that the creator hasn’t lost the thread that made this game infinitely fun.

The modes invented mostly by the online community will be included in the official game modes, and in general the game promises to be better than ever.

So, Worms: Reloaded is set to hit PCs on 26th of August, and will be priced at £17.99 on Steam.

I really enjoyed this game when it was first released but I can't say the same about the 3D Worms...it just didn't feel the same.

The animated background does look good. Check the trailler below:

Wise decision! Some things are simply better in 2D.

They should make it so that everything is in 3d, but keeping the view from the side like the old games which would keep the original worms feeling, but with an updated look. And they could also add modes so that the game could be rendered so it looks like the 2d games.

lol at the thumbs downers.

Your all retarded for disagreeing with a fact of life. Windows 7 really does screw these games up.

Honestly, Worms in 3D was probably the worst move the company could think of - the game simply rocked, it simply rocks and it WILL rock on in 2D.

Besides, it wasn't even about the graphics but about humiliating your opponent in the worst way possible :D Now what does DX11 have to do with that? :D

I'm soooo glad I've read this, otherwise it would probably go unnoticed by me.. But I'm so getting this game! OK, so I'll try first, just to make sure it's what I expect.. but this was one of the best games ever! Sorry, this IS one of the best games ever :)
