007 Wii controller shell to be expensive

by on29 June 2010

Will cost $70 if retail sources are correct
One of the stand out announcements at E3 was confirmation of what we knew already, which is that GoldenEye would be making a return to the Wii in a new Activision-developed title. It seems, however, that the leaked pictures of a Wii gun controller shell that would be able to be used with the game were nowhere to be found.

Our retail sources are now telling us that Activision does apparently have plans for such a device, and the Wii gun controller shell to hold the Wii controller will be sold for $70. According to our sources the game itself can be played without the Wii gun controller shell, but if you want the full 007 experience you could need the 007 Wii gun controller shell.

The Wii gun controller shell is real, our sources insist, and very expensive, which could mean that it will only be available in limited numbers.  Expect Activision to make an official announcement about their intentions with the Wii gun controller shell when we get a little closer to the game’s actual release.
