Nintendo dismisses 3DS launch rumours

Written by Fudzilla staff

Not coming this year after all
Nintendo has announced that it would not start shipping the all-new 3DS portable console in 2010, dismissing rumours of an October launch.

During an appearance on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, Nintendo America President Reggie Fils-Aime said that the 3DS won’t be appearing until next year. Nintendo had previously said that the console would launch by March 31 2011, but it was rumoured that the launch was scheduled for October 10.

Mind you, the decision to launch a new gaming console after the holiday shopping season sounds a bit strange, but we guess Nintendo knows its stuff.
