Testing
Normal speed of Geforce 8600GTS cards is 675MHz, but MSI offers an even faster version that we’re testing today. We had no problems with stability of the card, and we had no trouble in pushing it up to 770MHz. The default cooler adequately got the job done.
We noticed that the most of MSI OC cards is sold with an in-house designed cooler that will help with better cooling. The memory runs at 2100MHz, our test model runs at 1200MHz, and we managed to push the memory speed a little bit upwards. The reference speed is 2000MHz.

We see the expected increase in performance when the memory and core speeds are increased. Default Geforce 8600GTS scored 19055 marks which is 791 marks short of MSI running at 700MHz. Over-clocked card running at 770/2200MHz is faster that the reference one by 12 percent, and it scored 21402 marks.
