for gamers

MSI has
announced a yet another gaming notebook that is now available in the USA, the Calpella-based GX640. This 15.4-incher is now available both at Amazon.com and MSIMobile site and looks like a quite decent system with ATI's Mobility HD 5850 graphics card.

The new GX640 features neat looking chassis made out of brushed aluminium and MSI's trademark black/red colour scheme, typical of the company's GX series notebooks. It is based on Calpella design and comes with a Core i5-430M CPU working at 2.26GHz, 4GB of memory and ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5850 DX11 capable graphics card with 1GB of memory. All these specs are quite enough for some pleasurable gaming on a 15.4-inch display with 1680x1050 native resolution.

The rest of the specs include a DVD writer, 4-in-1 card reader, 500GB hard drive and a 9-cell battery that should provide at least some time for the regular usage without the need to plug it into the wall. The GX640 comes with a Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit OS.

The price tag stands at US $1099.99 and you can find it here.
