1080p support spotted

Cedar-Trail M platform will definitely give new life to Atom. Pine-Trail M platform powered with Atom N4x0 series didn’t bring too many things to be excited, as it was mostly better packaged Atom platform with almost identical performance and no HD support.

Cedar-Trail M solves this problem and aside from better video playback capability it is planned that this platform will feature Intel Wireless display 2.0 with 1080p support. The first generation of Intel Wireless display is now available with a few Calpella notebooks and it works like a charm. It is limited to 720p, but the 2.0 version for both notebooks and netbooks will support 1080p.

Cedar-Trail M based netbooks should bet Intel Wireless display 2.0 with 1080p support in the second half of 2011, or immediately at launch, and having a streamed HD video on your TV via Air only with a touch of a button, is quite impressive thing.

You do need an adapter, something like NETGEAR Push2TV Adapter for Intel Wireless Display to connect on the recovering end, your TV, but as we said the technology works like a charm.
