Core i5 in an X-Slim

A year ago MSI pioneered the affordable thin-and-light with the X-Slim X320 and now it has taken the concept one step further, thanks to Intel's new Arrandale ULV chips.

The sleek chassis of the 13.4-inch X-Slim X360 has remained largely unchanged, and frankly there's not much to change, as it still looks stunning. However, there's quite a few changes under the bonnet.

The X360 will sport Intel's 32nm Core i5 processors optimized for thin ultraportables. Apart from delivering up to 9 hours of battery life, the new CPUs will also feature Turbo overcloking and Hyperthreading. In other words, they will offer quite a bit more performance than the old 45nm CULV chips.

MSI hasn't revealed the price or launch date, but the X360 shouldn't end up too expensive, as much of the package has remained the same. The company will probably refresh the rest of the X-Slim series with new Arrandale processors soon.
