Samsung is apparently gearing up to launch a couple of new CULV-based notebooks, the 11.6-inch X120 and the 14-inch X420.
Last week we stumbled upon Samsung's 15.6-inch X520, and as expected
the rest of Samsung's thin-and-light lineup is starting to appear.
However, there's still no 13-incher, and this is a bit odd considering
this is the most popular form factor in this market segment.
Anyhow, the X420 is a 14-inch design powered by a SU2700 CPU, with 3GB
of memory and 250GB of storage. It is listed at over €700, and
considering its spec, it doesn't sound like good value for money. On
the upside, it weighs just 1.7kg and Samsung is promising up to 9 hours
of battery life.
The X120 will be powered by a Celeron 723 and it's expected to cost
around €550. This also sounds a bit steep, especially considering Acer
1810T and Dell Mini 11z pricing. Even if it were better priced, the
side-by-side trackpad button layout would not find many takers.
