Acer has added a new model to its thin and light Timeline notebook series, and this time it has gone small.
The Timeline 1810 is based on the Aspire One 751. It uses the same
chassis and 11.6-inch screen with a resolution of 1366x768, but under
the bonnet, it's a Timeline.
Powered by Intel's SU3500 CPU at 1.4GHz, it will ship with up to 4GB of
memory, and uses Intel's GS45 chipset. We're not sure about the storage
yet, but other Timeline models ship with 320GB or 500GB drives. It's
possible Acer will go for a smaller drive on the 1810 to keep costs
down, as it has to fit it between the Aspire One 751 and Timeline
3410T/3810T, which cost €399 and €499/€580 respectively.
It's not lacking in connectivity, either. HDMI, 802.11a/b/g/n WLAN,
Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, S/PDIF and gigabit Ethernet are all onboard. It will
ship with Vista Home Premium, and there's an option to upgrade to
Windows 7 in October.
The only thing bad about it is the fact that Acer retained the glare
screen from the Aspire One 751, and didn't go for a matte unit.
