You might recall Asustek's UX30 CULV-based thin and light
13-incher, showcased at Computex. It's a good looking machine, and now
we're starting to see some early previews.
TechDigest has done a brief preview of the UX30, and now we like it
even more. The sleek design is eyecatching. It is under 2cm thick and
with brushed aluminuim in abundance, it just looks classy. Some
connectors are hidden under a plastic flap, to streamline the gently
curved sides.
Unfortunately, the good looks and materials come at a price, a high
price. Once it hits retail in September, at £999 it could be the
priciest CULV-based notebook on the market. You can check out the
preview
here.
In case you can't wait that long, you could consider the UX50, a
15.6-inch model based on Intel's SU3500 CPU. It packs Geforce G105M
discrete graphics with 512MB of memory, 4GB of RAM and a 500GB hard
drive and costs just under €900.
