11.6 inches for €399

We already talked about Acer's upcoming 11.6-inch Aspire One 751, and a few Norwegian blokes previewed it a few weeks back. We weren't sure about the price or release date back then, but some new info has tipped up yesterday.

A French blogger on an Acer event toyed around with the 751, and did a pretty nice preview of it. More importantly, Acer has revealed the price of the new netbook, and it's just €399. Surprisingly low, considering you're getting an extra 1.5 inches over other netbooks, and that its resolution is 1366x768.

It gets better, the €399 version will ship with XP, 1GB of memory and 160GB of storage. For €499, you'll get 2GB of RAM, Vista Home Basic and 250GB of storage. Both SKUs are apparently based on Intel's Atom Z520 clocked at 1.3GHz and US15W chipset, they ship with 6-cell batteries and weigh 1.24kg. Interestingly, the 751 has three hatches for easy access to its hard drive, memory, and wireless card.

It looks like a well spec'd and well priced piece of kit. It's just an inch thick, light and nicely styled, and we're guessing it's got a rather bright future. We're expecting it to appear sometime in May, but the launch date wasn't revealed yet, so take this with a grain of salt.
