The Vado pocket video

Creative has released a new low-cost video camera that shoots video at 640x480 resolution at 30fps in MPEG4 AVI format. The Vado pocket video, as it's known, as also features a 2-inch LCD display with 640x240 resolution.

The Vado also has 2GB of built in memory good for 120 minutes of video at good quality and 60 minutes in what Creative calls excellent quality, although there's no word on the bit rate for either quality mode.

There's no way of exapanding the built-in memory, but as the battery life is only good for about 130 minutes of usage, there doesn't seem to be much of a point being able to expand the memory, although the battery is user swappable.

The Vado has an integrated USB 2.0 port that folds out at the bottom of the camera and it's used for charging the camera as well as downloading the video from the camera onto your computer. The video is compatible with YouTube and Photobucket, and most likely a wide range of other online video sharing sites.

The MSRP is US$99.99 and you can find out more here
