More Xbox 360 news trickles in from CES

We stumbled across a few more noteworthy news items for the Xbox 360 crowd in our travels during CES. While Microsoft was quiet for the most part on the Xbox 360 front beyond the announcements of the Spring Update which will bring Xbox Live Primetime to the Xbox 360, not much else was confirmed, other than the Halo Wars release scheduled for March 3rd with the demo to be available for download on March 5th.

Square Enix will push the ship date of Star Ocean: The Last Hope up from March 3rd to February 24th, 2009. The prequel is one of the most anticipated releases for 2009 that is being developed by tri-Ace Studios. The RPG title is a science fiction space-oriented opera that uses an innovative battle system that has made the previous releases very popular, especially in the Japanese market. Star Ocean: The Last Hope will be the first release of the title on the Xbox 360 platform.

Namco Bandai’s Surge studio announced that the upcoming release of Afro Samurai has gone gold and is now officially confirmed for release for January 27th. The title is based on the animated series that stars Samuel L. Jackson. It will feature new music from RZA of the Wu Tang Clan. Namco Bandai plans a major marketing program for the title, including a promotion with Church’s Chicken.

Ubisoft announced a downloadable content package for Shaun White Snowboarding called the “Glamour Pack” which will be available for 400 Microsoft Points. Basically, the Glamour Pack adds 7 more styles of pants, 7 more styles of coats, 4 tuques, 4 new styles of gloves, 4 new styles of boots, 4 new goggles types, 14 new snowboards, 2 new types of bindings and 3 new backpacks.
