PC BFBC2 beta starting as well

Thursday turned out to be a big day for Battlefield fans. Xbox 360 subscribers with Gold Xbox Live access were able to start downloading and playing the Battlefield Bad Company 2 Demo early. Originally, the BFBC2 demo for Xbox 360 was not to arrive for download till February 4th, at least from what we were told.

According to DICE, it is a surprise; and players can download it and start playing it without any fear of reprisals from Microsoft or DICE. While our sources seem to disagree on exactly what is going on, it seems that it just simply might be nothing more than a decision to release the demo early to Xbox 360 players just because it was ready to go.

As for PC players excited about the start of the BFBC2 beta that is starting up, we know beta keys for the demo were begin being distributed to those that pre-ordered. The closed beta is online and ready for download, but many reports suggest that with all of the people trying to download it, things are a little slow.  (We have been trying to download it for several hours and we still don't have it!) The PC beta is scheduled to run until the end of the next month.

As for the Xbox 360 Demo of BFBC2, DICE is confirming that the Demo will expire February 25th, which is just prior to the scheduled release of the game, which will be March 2nd in North America, with those in Europe having to wait till March 4th. Once released, the game will be available for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC platforms. Our sources are confirming that a demo will be released for all three platforms at some point after release.
