1.04 fixes multiplayer data sync issue

Naughty Dog has started pushing a new patch that addresses the multiplayer data sync issue that some users were having a problem with. According to the release notes, the 1.04 patch does not fix or add much else beyond addressing the issue that was causing some people to be unable to access the multiplayer mode.

If you were one of those that were seeing the dreaded “Error syncing player data” error you might not be happy with the fact that in order to address the problem the fix is resetting your player to level one. That’s right: according to our understanding, the only way to fix this is resetting the player level to one.

The team at Naughty Dog claims that this was a hard decision and the developers explored a variety of fixes to address the issue, but nothing worked. In the end they were left with the only possible solution of resetting all players to level one in the multiplayer in order to prevent the possibility of the problem happening again. So, if you were unaffected, your level should stay where it is, but if you were you will be reset to level one.

While it isn’t the solution that anyone hoped for, it does address the issue going forward and it does not appear that it is likely to happen again, according to the developer.
