No longer will you have to buy ODST

One of the points for buying Halo 3: ODST was the included Mythic Map Pack 2 for Halo 3, which included an additional three multiplayer maps. Until now, the only way to get these three additional maps was to buy a copy of Halo 3: ODST; but this is no longer the case.

The Mythic Map Pack 2 will arrive on Xbox Live February 2nd where the map pack is expected to be sold for 800 Microsoft points, which is pretty much what map packs go for these days. The three multiplayer maps, which are part of the pack, are called Citadel, Longshore and Heretic.

The decision to sell the map pack separately was really a no brainer, as many of those that purchased ODST didn’t even look at the additional maps. Since Halo 3 is still so popular, the decision to make these maps more publicly accessible is a good thing in the fact that it will drive additional revenue; at the same time this will make it easier for those that don’t want to buy ODST to get the maps, which in turn should make them more popular. We checked the maps out where ODST was released and they were honestly some nice multiplayer maps for Halo 3.
