PC version now, 360 and PS3 to follow

Infinity Ward has announced another update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. The latest patch will add a variety of fixes that address issues on all three platforms. The PC version will be released right away, with the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of the patch to follow as soon as it passes acceptance testing.

The fixes include normalization of care packages, emergency airdrops, sentry gun marker grenades and sprint speed. Geometry detection issues are resolved in dealing with the sentry guns, and player collision in dealing with the elevators. A couple of PC-only related fixes will be in place to address mouse latency issues, as well as fixes to prevent texture hacks.

Perhaps the most interesting fix in this round of patching might be the prevention of potentially getting negative XP. While we have not seen this issue directly, we have heard some who insist that they have seen this one.

While no specific release date has been announced for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 patch to drop, we expect that it will arrive in the next couple of weeks and likely sooner if testing goes well, according to our sources.
