To arrive in as Limited Edition in some markets

As Microsoft continues to race toward the adoption of the 250GB hard drive as being the new standard going forward, various sources are confirming the existence of the first of what is being called the Xbox 360 “Super Elite” console bundles.

It would appear that at least in the Australian market, buyers will be offered a new Xbox 360 Elite that qualifies. The new bundle is being called the Mass Effect 2 Limited Edition. The Mass Effect 2 Limited Edition contains the standard black Xbox 360 Elite console with no special custom paint or decals, along with two black wireless controllers, a copy of Mass Effect 2 and the elusive 250GB hard drive.

It is normal for Australian PR to be ahead of the curve with these announcements, but as of yet there has been no confirmation that the Mass Effect 2 Limited Edition console bundle will be offered in any other markets, although but it is possible that this will be the case. In the past, however, Microsoft has picked and done bundles of popular titles for specific markets, while not offering them in others. We will have to wait and see how this pans out and whether they elect to move in this direction in other markets.
