Another COD MW2 bug plagues players

It seems that the glitches and bugs just keep coming for Infinity Ward these days since the release of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2. Hot on the heels of the recently patched Javelin glitch, it seems a new bug, which is being called the “infinite ammo” glitch, has emerged as the new pain in the side of players.

The infinite ammo glitch is a bug that occurs when a player enters a match with no ammo counters for any of the weapons. The only way to rid yourself of the glitch is disconnecting from Xbox Live and rebooting your Xbox 360. It seems that the problem is frequent and a real pain for players.

If the infinite ammo glitch wasn't enough, it seems that Xbox 360 players are also the victim of another bug that involves the match making system for COD MW2. This bug is being referred to as the “private match” glitch, which causes users to be connected to hacked private matches that have custom rule sets while they were actually attempting to find a public match. From what we can tell in our testing, this issue does not seem to be as much of a problem, but it is an issue nonetheless.

From what we are hearing, the developers are working overtime to deal with these two issues. Our sources suggest that Infinity Ward will release an in-depth status report to let everyone know what issues they are working to resolve and what kind of progress they are making swatting these bugs. Our sources tell us that they would like to quickly get out a patch to deal with these two rather major glitches, as well as a couple of other minor things that they have uncovered, as well.

While we hear that the patch is likely before the end of the year, we are not 100% sure that the patch will make it out the door for deployment to your Xbox 360 before the end of the year. With the holiday looming and the fact that internal testing as well as Microsoft certification needs to take place, it might be a tall order to make it happen in such a short timeline. Still, we might be surprised, as we know that Infinity Ward wants to resolve the issues as quickly as possible and put some of these rather public glitches behind them.
