THQ is now officially confirming that the company is working on a sequel to the highly successful initial release, UFC Undisputed 2009. The next title in the franchise will be called, of course, UFC Undisputed 2010.

While THQ isn't talking too much yet on what to expect from UFC Undisputed 2010, they have announced that you will be able to see the first-ever trailer from the upcoming UFC Undisputed 2010 release on December 12th during the Spike TV Video Game Awards show.

The company is also attempting to drum up support for their nomination in the Best Sports Game category that will be awarded during the show. UFC Undisputed 2009 was a breakout title for THQ, with the MMA title doing much better than expected with sales numbers that were impressive for the first installment in what has now become a core franchise for developer THQ.

THQ has not set an actual release date for UFC Undisputed 2010, but our sources believe that it will arrive in late summer 2010 or early fall 2010 time frame.
