Will deliver an authentic modern war experience

More details were confirmed about the upcoming new Medal of Honor title, as we had revealed in a previous story that we heard was in development by Electronic Arts' LA Studio. The next Medal of Honor title, which the company claims will deliver the most authentic modern war experience, is slated for release in the fall of 2010 in time for the holiday buying season.

The title will simply be released as “Medal of Honor” and is said to feature a storyline about a Tier 1 operator that takes on missions assigned by the National Command Authority that no one else can handle. The title will be a significant radical departure from previous Medal of Honor releases. While EA's L.A. Studio will be responsible for the development of the title, our sources indicate that the title will be developed in conjunction with DICE, who will be focused on the development of the multiplayer components of the game.

Apparently, the reinvention of the Medal of Honor franchise has been in the planning stages for some time and development has been ongoing for several months already. While we have been unable to confirm it, our sources tell us that the new Medal of Honor title will use the DICE Frostbite engine, which is the same engine that powers the recent releases in the Battlefield franchise, including Bad Company, Bad Company 2, and the Battlefield 1943 download title.

When released in the fall of 2010 the new Medal of Honor title will arrive for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC platforms. The first ever viewing of the new Medal of Honor trailer will be shown during the Spike VGA awards on December 12th.
