It will get you the banhammer on XBL

If you have been playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 for a while now online, you have likely run into the javelin-caused suicide bombing that can make you throw your controller through the nearest wall. While Infinity Ward is aware of what is now being called the “Javelin Glitch” and they are working on a patch to deal with it, Xbox 360 players might want to think twice before taking advantage of this bug.

According to Stephen (Stepto) Toulouse, who is the director of policy enforcement for Xbox Live, those taking advantage of the glitch can expect Stepto to wield the banhammer; violators will likely find themselves banned for a day, and if it happens again, the suspension could last for up to two weeks, depending on the situation.

While the glitch can also be used on the PlayStation 3 and PC versions of the game, so far only players of the Xbox 360 version have been warned to play fair. For those who don’t know about the glitch, it basically allows someone carrying the rocket launcher to turn into a sprinting human suicide bomber. Trust us when we say that this isn’t cool at all. If you are on Xbox Live, know that the enforcement police are watching: and if you happen to be playing the PlayStation 3 or PC version, just play fair and don’t do it.
