PlayStation 3 to get multiplayer beta before 360 or PC

After we warned you about the fake Emails last week trying to get people to sign up for the Battlefield Bad Company 2 beta, DICE is now confirming their plans for the multiplayer Battlefield Bad Company 2 beta.

In what might be considered a surprising move, the Battlefield Bad Company 2 beta will first be available for the PlayStation 3 on November 19th. For PS3 owners to get access to the beta they only need to pre-order Battlefield Bad Company 2 and they will be provided with a key that will allow them to download and access the multiplayer beta.

As for PC gamers, access to the multiplayer beta for the PC will kick off at some point in early December, but a specific date has not yet been decided. For those waiting for news on the Xbox 360 beta, we are sad to report that we have confirmed that there will not be a multiplayer beta on the Xbox 360 prior to the actual demo which will be released for all three platforms early next year. While puzzling, there are no additional details on why it was decided not to offer the beta on the Xbox 360 platform.

As for the multiplayer beta itself, it will contain one map, which is called Arica Harbour, and it will allow for play between the Americans versus the Russians for up to 24 players (or 12 per side if you prefer). The map offers both ground and vehicular battle.
