Former Flight simulator developers start new project

In the wake of the closing of the Microsoft Aces development studio, word has reached us that quite a few of these team members have surfaced at a new development studio called Cascade Game Foundry. The new Seattle-based studio is being headed by Rick Selby and Kathie Flood, both veterans of the former Microsoft Aces studio.

Cascade Game Foundry is promising a return to the simulation titles that the Aces studio was famous for developing and that Microsoft has abandoned for the time being. While the studio has not officially announced any title in development quite yet, it is suspected that an announcement will be coming soon, as the studio is already working on the design and demo for its first actual project.

Cascade Game Foundry is expecting to continue the hardcore simulation experience and develop titles that will appeal to a new audience, as well. No timetable was announced for the release of their first project and no publisher was announced, either. Expect to hear more from this team in the months ahead. It is good to know, however, that some of those great simulation titles will continue to be pumped out - at least on some level.
