Moonshot Games to be their new home

More developers are leaving the Bungie fold. This time, Michel Bastien, Damian Isla and Rob Stokes have left Bungie to form Moonshot Games, with the goal of leveraging their experience of developing for Bungie into delivering AAA titles for the download market space.

What makes this very unique is that Damian Isla was the AI gameplay and engineering lead and Michel Bastien was the production lead for both Halo 2 and Halo 3. Rob Stokes wore a lot of hats, but is mostly regarded as a creative director who contributed in a variety of ways, including writing and mission design, for example, in the Halo franchise.

The move is a departure for these talented individuals, but they have good experience and could build something very unique with a modest budget. Despite what you might think, Moonshot Games isn’t saying that they are Xbox 360 exclusive, so it is possible that they will be producing stuff for the PlayStation 3 and Wii platforms, as well. This is one studio to keep an eye on.
