We’ve already reported the hasty announcement that leaked from EA’s ship, but this time it’s official as EA spills official beans – Command & Conquer 4 will be ready for 2010 launch. Unfortunately, there’s a nasty surprise as well as EA confirmed that the game is PC only.

Our colleagues from Gamespot have gotten their hands on two screenshots and although it might be a bit too early for actual screens, at least it’s something to feast your eyes on. As we said before, the game will see the addition of RPG-like class-based gameplay, mobile bases, 5v5 multiplayer games, as well as other new features.

The story, touted by EA as “the epic conclusion to the Tiberium saga”, follows humans on planet Earth in 2062, where Tiberium threatens to extinguish life in six years, and the factions once at war start working for the same cause – survival.
