September update to be free when released

It seems that as well as Fight Night Round 4 is doing in sales, the feedback that Electronic Arts is receiving is very critical of the current Total Punch control scheme which many have said is simply too hard to master.

Electronic Arts is going to address the customer feedback with an updated alternative face button scheme which is said to be free when it is released in September. This option was present in Fight Night Round 3, and many were disappointed that this option was not offered in Fight Night Round 4.

In addition, two free downloadable content releases are on the way that will add a new gym, new gameplay sliders and equipment. For Xbox 360 owners, they will also enjoy the added benefit of an alternate version of Sugar Ray Leonard that will be exclusive to the system and presented by Pizza Hut, according to our sources. Look for the first of these DLC releases starting today, with the others to arrive in early August.

Some sources are saying that the quick work by EA to address this issue is a major effort to respond to what the customer wants quickly and not lose sales momentum. EA has been criticized in the past for not working quickly when customers have a problem with a title, and it is believed that the company has lost a lot of sales by not being proactive enough.

According to various reports, EA still believes that the Total Punch Control system is the best way to throw punches in Fight Night Round 4, but it seems that many of those playing the game do not seem to agree. With the update, players will not have the option, which might be more important for the long-term sales health of an otherwise great title.
