Not really a surprise, we told you already

During an Executive Club of Chicago event, Steve Balmer himself confirmed that Microsoft would be releasing a new Xbox 360 in 2010 that features a natural interface and will have a built-in camera with the ability to recognize movement and voice.

It sounds like we were right on the mark when we told you that an Xbox 360 would be coming that would be bundled with the Natal technology. It seems, however, that while the console might feature some revisions to make these additions as well as some cost cutting measures, don’t look for much more than that at this point.

Of course, we continue to hear that more is undecided about this Natal version of the Xbox 360; it will not arrive this year, which is now certain. We also have confirmed that Natal will be offered as an add-on for current Xbox 360 owners, which is also no real surprise at this point. Look for Microsoft to sweeten the deal for the Natal version of the Xbox 360 when it is released in 2010, but don’t look for them to talk much more about it this year.
