Future chapters in the series to new developer

It looks like the America’s Army franchise is finally going to stop taking heat. Upon the release of America’s Army 3 launch, the California-based developer has been shut down, which according to reports was actually expected as funding for the project only covered the studio up till the AA3 development had been completed.

The America’s Army series is funded by the U.S. Army. The simulation-based title is said to be experiencing some growing pains, but some suggest that future development will be handled by another studio that has won the contract that is based in Alabama.

The California-based developers are complaining that a lot of good people devoted a lot of time and energy to the title, and the development of the title is said to have been influenced by outside sources that significantly screwed it up. Currently, we have no final count on the number of people that received the axe with the closing of the studio.

The America’s Army public relations team has yet to comment publicly on what exactly is going on, but we do expect them to release a statement at some point in the future. While many have complained about the recruiting angle and slow simulation pace of the title, it still remains one of the best free games that it is available today.
