Delivers E3 surprises with announcements

Besides the Metal Gear franchise, many people often overlook Konami these days as they have not had a lot of recent success and many in the media feel that the company has lost direction. Things appear to be changing at Konami as the company is going back to their roots and taking advantage of established franchises with their announcements at E3 during their press conference.

Of course the biggest news with the amount of new Metal Gear titles. As everyone already knows a new Metal Gear Solid title called Rising is in production and it will be available for the Xbox 360. This a first for the franchise on the Xbox 360, but it not appears that it will arrive for the PlayStation 3 at the same time as well. In addition you can look for Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker to arrive on the PSP as well. The Metal Gear Arcade title is also in development.

The biggest surprise was the news that a new Castlevania game is in development. It is called Castlevania: Lord of the Shadows. It will not arrive till 2010 and it is expected to be multiplatform, but we have been unable to confirm that this is the case. It is doubtful that this will be an exclusive to anyone one console.

Silent Hill will be back with Silent Hill: Shattered Memories. It will be multiplatform for sure and it is expected to arrive yet this year as it already been in production or sometime according to our sources who are insisting that this is the case.

Overall, Konami looks to have a strong lineup with a lot of favorites making a return. The new Castlevania title is sure to be interesting and of course it will be good to have Silent Hill back again. It could be the Konami is back with a vengeance and gone back to what works.
