After a year, it will arrive for Burnout Paradise

It would appear that Criterion did see our news item questioning the possibility of when the Big Surf Island add-on pack will finally arrive for Burnout Paradise on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. It would seem that the mystery has finally ended with the news that the Big Surf Island add-on pack will arrive on June 11th for download purchase on both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

The news of the release date was announced in the latest episode of Crash TV, which is the new video blog that is released by the Criterion development team. In the latest episode they offer a little over eight minutes of a guided tour of Big Surf Island in all of its glory. From what we can see there is a lot for Burnout Paradise players to get excited about, as there appear to be a lot of new areas and challenges to explore.

According to what we hear there is going to be a lot to do to achieve your Big Surf Island license, including 75 new barriers to smash and 45 new billboards to destroy. Some of the terrain that we saw in the video looks very extreme and features a variety of new challenges in the form of new jumps that can be completed solo or in combination with a stunt run, perhaps. We hear that it will also offer 15 new events and 10 new online freeburn challenges, as well.

We don’t yet know what the achievements for the Xbox 360 or the trophies for the PlayStation 3 might actually look like. Sources continue to tell us, however, that you can expect to pay $10 for the Big Surf Island add-on when it is released.
