Sony may be looking to take on the Xbox 360 Gears Pro Bundle that we told you about yesterday with a PlayStation 3 bundle of their own. Whispers indicate that this new PS3 bundle is already en route to Best Buy, but it will not be an actual revision of the console or come with a price decrease.

According to what we hear it will just be a bundle that is similar to the bundle that Sony did for Target last year. It will be the same $399 price and 80GB hard drive, but it will include two games. We don’t yet know which two, but it is two games for sure that are likely to be titles out of their Greatest Hits collection.

We are not sure if Sony is going to talk about it at E3, but from what we hear it is more likely that Sony might pre-announce it before E3 in an effort to strike before Microsoft announces the Gears Pro Bundle. In our opinion they would get better coverage for a price reduction than they are going to get bundling two old titles with the same old console at the same price.
