Just like last year, no PC version again

While Electronic Arts did make a lot of waves last year with the announcement that Madden 09 would not be coming to the PC, our sources tell us that it appears that Madden 10 will also follow that pattern and not be released on the PC this year, either.

While Pete Moore, who is EA Sport’s head honcho, did say that we had not seen the last of Madden on the PC platform, he also provided no clue as to when the franchise might again appear on the PC. From what we have heard, Electronic Arts continues to look at sports titles on the PC platform, but right now there just isn’t anything on the horizon, at least not on the Madden front.

Electronic Arts has been looking at some free-to-play concepts that are micro transaction-based and the company is starting to test these online titles out with releases such as Battlefield Heroes and the Korean release of FIFA Online 2; but it is still evaluating the concept and what the business model will look like.

While we expect a more official announcement that Madden 10 is not coming to the PC this year at E3, we are in limbo as to whether we will see titles such as NHL Hockey 10 (which did appear on the PC last year) make a return this year.
