License to publish, distribute and license

The team at Zoo Publishing has picked up the rights to license, publish and distribute the titles that were previously held by Empire Interactive. While we don’t yet know what all Zoo Games has planned, for the short term we already understand that they plan to re-release several of the Empire Interactive titles, as well as start the process of porting some of the catalog titles to other platforms.

In addition to the re-releases and the porting of Empire titles, it has also been said that the company is already looking at the Empire franchises for the development of new titles based on Empire’s IP. While it is not known for sure, we have to think that another version of FlatOut could be first up for the studio.

Empire Interactive was best known for the FlatOut, Big Mutha Truckers, and PipeMania franchise, which all will now be controlled by Zoo Games. We expect that Zoo will make an additional specific announcement as to the future of the Empire Interactive IP after they have a bit more time to sort things out.
