More places to play for two popular titles

The downloadable content continue to trickle out from the studios with the announcement that Gears of War 2 as well as Halo 3 will both be getting new map packs. The map packs for the FPS titles have been some of the best received downloadable content on Xbox Live.

This time around Gears of War 2 will be getting the “Snowblind map pack” that will offer four new maps with a winter theme. The new maps will include Grindyard, Under Hill, Courtyard, and a winterized version of Fuel depot. Fuel depot has been a favorite and the new frozen version will follow in that tradition. A new patch is also headed to Gears of War 2. The Snowblind map pack will be available for download for 800 points on March 31st, but the Gears of War 2 patch will precede the release of the new map pack.

As for Halo 3, most players already know that the Mythic map pack has been available to those that purchased the Limited Edition of Halo Wars, but it will be launched for the public at large on Xbox Live, starting on April 9th for 800 Microsoft Points.
