The Lost and Damned download content that was exclusive to Xbox Live Arcade has set a new record for the most first-day release sales. While Microsoft stated that the add-on broke records, the company would not give out specifics as to exactly how many purchases the add-on for GTA IV racked up.

From what we could uncover, the number has to be well over 323,000+, as Aaron Greenberg, who is the Xbox 360 product manager, said that The Lost and Damned would have outsold Killzone 2 in February. Killzone 2 was only on sale for a few days and it was able to rack up 323,000 units, and the Lost and Damned add-on for GTA IV had a two-week head start on it.

Microsoft has been coming under fire from many these days about the exclusive downloadable content deals that it has been striking with publishers to produce content that is exclusive for the Xbox 360 platform. While those that have consoles other than the Xbox 360 are complaining about these deals, it would see that these exclusive content deals are starting to attract more attention from gamers.
