Microsoft is looking for a designer

Microsoft is continuing to build a new Halo internal development team at Microsoft Studios that will handle taking the franchise into the next evolution after Bungie. To that end, Microsoft has an opening for a Game Designer that will be responsible for acting as the lead designer to develop a new experience in the Halo universe.

You can apply for the job on Microsoft’s Web site, but we would expect the competition to be quite stiff, so it would likely be best if you at least have some experience. Microsoft has already hired Kenneth Scott to be the creative director for the unannounced Halo title. In addition, Scott’s wife, Corrinne Yu, formerly of Gearbox, is also on board for the project.

We expect to start hearing more about the future of the Halo franchise at E3 this year, but our sources insist that we should not expect a new Halo game to arrive later in the year. We have not seen the end of Master Chief, according to FrankO’Connor, who is responsible for the Halo franchise development effort at iMcrosoft.
