Resident Evil 5 already floating around

Capcom can’t be happy about free download

Ten days before the official release of Resident Evil 5 by Capcom a cracked version of the upcoming Xbox 360 title is floating around on torrent sites. While the game does not officially launch for release until March 13th, the 6.71GB file is being downloaded by users at an alarming rate.

Of course, Capcom can’t be happy at all about this development, and the company has been vocal in the past about the amount of piracy and how much it hurts their sales. Beyond the fact that the leaked and cracked release is a major issue for the company, it could translate into major lost sales for the company, as many gamers have been waiting for the release of this title and it is one of the more anticipated releases so far this year.

Despite the fact that the company is quite upset about the piracy of a title not even released yet, it is unknown at this time whether the company will take action to try to determine where the leak occurred and how it happened. Beyond this, little can be done other than to get the lawyers involved.
