Some of it free and some of it not

Rockstar Games announced that starting March 12th they will be bringing a new downloadable content pack out for Midnight Club: Los Angeles. Called the “South Central Map Expansion” it adds one-third more territory to the game with four new neighborhoods that will make up the map.

If that is not enough, Rockstar will also be offering the “South Central Premium Upgrade” for 800 Microsoft points for Xbox 360 owners, or $10 for PlayStation 3 owners, that will add nine new vehicles of different types, twenty-six additional races to compete in, twelve new battle maps, ten new delivery missions, and an additional 100 red light races to compete in. Of course, the Central Premium Upgrade will also add all new upgrades, new vinyl packs, new parts, and, of course, new music to race by.

Midnight Club: Los Angeles was released just prior to the holiday season and was perhaps overshadowed by other titles that came out around the same time. Reviews of the game were, in fact, quite positive, with some suggesting that this was the best release in the franchise in some time.

Those that have purchased the game are likely to give it another spin with the additional content that is going to be free and that will hopefully breathe some new life into this title. South Central Premium Upgrade might be a bit of a harder sell as many may have already stopped playing the title and might be hard pressed to justify the cost of premium content that Rockstar is offering.
