Chasing the DS

Sony announced that its portable gaming device, the PSP has so far sold in 50 million units worldwide. It’s understandable that Sony execs are quite happy about this achievement as it took the PSP a bit over four years to reach these figures.

Although initially priced as much as $100 over Nintendo’s DS, the PSP fared well but we’re yet to see it seriously challenge the DS, as Nintendo’s December reports say that the DS has sold in 96 million units so far.

So, 50 down and 46 million more to go, and we wish the PSP luck with catching up, as it’ll surely need it.

More here.
