Midway continues to crank up the PR machine

With all of the negative discussion surrounding Midway, it seems now that the studio has gone on the offense to crank up the PR machine to get the word out that some things are going well for the developer. The latest news is that the company has shipped 1.8 million units of the recently released Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe on both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 platforms.

Midway also went on to say that the Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe title was the largest pre-ordered title in Midway history and that more that 3.6 million matches have taken place online worldwide since the game was released.

The bigger news, however, is perhaps that work is already in progress on the ninth version of Mortal Kombat, which for the time being is being called MK9 by many. Midway did not release any details about the next version of the game, but did say that they will be releasing additional details in the future.
